Regenerative medicine has long been regarded as a technology of the future. Our goal is to help make it more accessible to many more people.

Autologous cell therapy, which uses cells derived from individual patients, is attracting attention for its immunological compatibility and low risk of rejection. At the same time, manufacturing cells for each individual patient presents unique challenges in maintaining consistent quality while ensuring efficient production.
In collaboration with the Kyoto University CiRA Foundation (iPS Cell Research Foundation), Panasonic Holdings has combined its biotechnology expertise with manufacturing expertise cultivated over many years to develop technology that automates the iPS cell establishment process, a key step in advancing regenerative medicine.
In this edition of Panasonic Stories in 60 sec, we introduce the vision behind this technology and the engineers working to bring it to life.

How can the delicate techniques of skilled technicians be translated into machine processes?
What can Panasonic’s manufacturing expertise bring to the field of biotechnology?
Watch the video to learn more about the engineers’ challenge to help expand access to regenerative medicine.
