Panasonic HD, in collaboration with JICA, donated 100 Panasonic solar lanterns to women and girls living in the off-grid area of Orinye Village, Kajiado County, southwestern Kenya.
The women and girls living in this village have long been exposed to gender-based violence (GBV) and have lived in harsh conditions. With the light of the solar lanterns, women and girls can learn how to read, write and do business at night, and increase the number of hours they can work.Increased income also empowers them economically, allowing them to help their families.
What is the #GBV that surrounds these women? Learn about the women who are making great strides with solar lanterns in hand.
