In 2011, Panasonic signed a strategic partnership agreement with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre to help promote the "importance of World Heritage conservation" and "environmental education for the next generation." A signing ceremony was held at the same time as the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Cambodia, renewing the above partnership until 2015. Panasonic also donated "solar LED lanterns" that can create and store energy even in areas without access to electricity, and "LED lighting" that are being installed at World Heritage sites around the world. Ms. Irina Bokova, the Director-General of UNESCO described her expectations for Panasonic, stating, "I believe and I want to express my deep gratitude once again to Panasonic for their leadership for sustainable development of supporting UNESCO's activities of sharing our commitment and our engagement."

Through programs jointly conducted with UNESCO, Panasonic helps communicate the importance of World Heritage conservation. With respect to technology, Panasonic introduced "DIVE into World Heritage 3D," an imaging system which incorporates 3D technology. This system found in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris as well as other locations around the world features 5 large screen displays, which together offers a truly immersive 3D experience of World Heritage sites to help communicate their wonder. Panasonic also exhibited the "World Heritage Calendar App," that can be enjoyed on the "4K tablet," PCs, and tablets. The beautiful images displayed on the screen drew much attention. With respect to communication, Panasonic announced that it would continue to sponsor the National Geographic Channel broadcasted in 193 countries around the world.

Panasonic also helps promote environmental education for children of the next generation. It has and will continue to invite many children to World Heritage sites to take part in its environmental education activities. On the day before the signing ceremony was held, Panasonic invited 100 elementary school children to the Angkor monuments to take part in the "World Heritage Eco Learning Program." The children listened to a lecture about World Heritage, saw how the monuments are being repaired, and learned about the importance of World Heritage conservation.
