The Life Innovation Container introduced in this video is a system that has packaged together solar panels and storage batteries into a shipping container. It can generate and supply electricity on its own as long as there is sunlight. Panasonic has developed this, so that it may be of use in areas afflicted by natural disasters or areas without power supply. Panasonic has also donated a Life Innovation Container to the disaster headquarters in the town of Minamisanriku, an area afflicted by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and it is currently supply power there. Two more of these containers have been donated to Indonesia, and there are also plans to send them to Tanzania in Africa.
This Life Innovation Container appeared at the Indonesian Red Cross Society's camp event held in Gorontalo, on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. Please take a look at Panasonic's cutting-edge technologies that made the children break into big smiles at the event held on a bright and sunny day.

The Life Innovation Container packed full of cutting-edge technologies that "create energy," "store energy," and "save energy." These technologies have been incorporated into a standard 20-ft container used around the world to transport goods on trucks, ships, and trains.
The prototype of the Life Innovation Container was first introduced at the "Panasonic 'eco ideas' Forum 2010" (Tokyo). As you can see in the illustration, the Life Innovation Container can supply power to areas without power supply i.e. to the community's schools, clinics, and shopping centers.
This event, called "JUMBARA," attracted 3,000 participants from Indonesia and other parts of the world. It is a camp event organized by the Indonesian Red Cross Society every 5 years, aimed at nurturing the next generation of Red Cross members with skills to respond to emergencies and natural disasters as well as a humanitarian spirit.
At this year's "JUMBARA" event, the Life Innovation Container was used as a mobile office of the Indonesian Red Cross Society, and it also supplied power to the electronic devices inside the demonstration rescue tent. The smiles of children listening to the lecture about solar power generation leave a strong impression.
